Eastern Carolina shelter needs help getting animals out to rescue.
Please rescue by this coming Tuesday at 4pm. Nina, an extremely gentle senior lab who gets along with everyone and just wants to "go home" and gator, a smaller 2 year old energetic chocolate lab x who loves to play with the hounds and lab the gentle dogs at the shelter.
Both are HW+, HOWEVER, they are being treated with heartguard AND will leave our shelter with a year supply of it. NOTE: All HW+ dogs need 2 years of continued heartguard to be heartworm free. Can be adopted as is with the pills donated to the families for treatment.
Name; NINA. Temp tested
Age: About 7 or 8 years old
Weight: About 70#
"Nina" was brought into the shelter on Jan. 4, 2010 by animal control. Her owner had a stroke and could not take care of her any longer so they contacted animal control to pick her up. This is just so sad because she is a AWESOME girl! She is very affectionate and loving and loves being with her human companions. She walks great on the leash and has a great disposition. She knows some basic commands and seems like she is eager to please whomever she is around".
NAME: Gator. Temp tested
Weight: About 50#
"Gator" was brought into the shelter on Dec. 23, 2010 by someone who had found him and kept him for a month but said not afford to keep him any longer. His owners were contacted but they would not pay the fee to get him back. He seems to be about 2 or 3 years old. He enjoys playing with other dogs, females and males- neutered or not as long as they are social towards him of course or he gets intimidated but still does not act badly. He seems to be fine with cats and loves people but is HW+. He was just temperament tested which is why this bio may not match the site information exactly.
He was started on HW preventatives and will be given a year's worth of heartguard if rescued. Another year of heartguard will be enough to take car e of killing all the worms and he can be adopted out any time with that kind of treatment. Please HELP that nice dog.
